25 years – European Capitals of Culture – Much room for discussion

The entire affair is in fact still young, quite young indeed – just barely 25 years old. But in spite of its youth, the European Capital of Culture offers plenty of reasons for discussion. The title "European Capital of Culture" was awarded for the twenty-fifth time this year. Capital of Culture without Barriers

Unfortunately not everyone in our society has the same access to culture, and that is something that needs to change. Inclusive access has to be improved, particularly for people with disabilities and those from socio-economically disadvantaged groups, so they too can experience events which they are interested in without being hindered by unnecessary problems. The European Capital of Culture is serious about playing its part in achieving this goal. / MORE
