RUHR.2010 celebrates European film

Following the pilot of the first "RUHR European Film Week / European Film Academy (EFA)" in December 2009, which involved over 70 screenings in selected cinemas throughout the Ruhr Metropolis and a major gala event at the listed Lichtburg cinema in Essen, the EFA will be offering an insight into the quality and diversity of European film in the Capital of Culture year.
During the coming winter, selected industry names from in front of and behind the camera will be visiting the European Capital of Culture RUHR.2010, where they will rub shoulders with those for whom films are made: the local people. After all, as a melting pot of numerous European cultures, the Ruhr Metropolis is home to a highly interested and enthusiastic cinema-going public.
