News for Youth - a European press centre for young editors and volunteers will be set up in May 2010 in the Center for Information and Education. In a one-week camp, 25 reporters of tomorrow will have the opportunity to experience the transformation and cultural diversity of the Ruhr Metropolis and communicate what they have learnt to young readers in their home region.
It is planned to publish the print and online reports in parallel in the Hellweger Anzeiger newspaper and the RUHR.2010 media. A translated "Best Of" selection of articles will appear as a special issue in the Hellweger Anzeiger.
The highlight of the project is an international symposium, which will take place on 6 June in the Press Center. This will bring together newspaper publishers, media experts and journalists to discuss how to win young readers for the print media.
