"AGORA - tanzplan essen - 2010/ Feldstärke International" is inviting advanced students from groundbreaking art colleges and schools of performance, dance, media art, photography, painting and sculpture from Cologne, Berlin, Giessen, Essen, Dortmund, Paris, Los Angeles and Istanbul to the Ruhr Metropolis.
They will spend a whole week exploring the region along individual pathways in small working groups with social, urban and artistic issues and themes as their luggage. Techniques and methods, designs and boundaries will be investigated, exchanged, rejected and completely reassembled.
The sketches, activities and field research arising from this process will be presented in a programme of public events at PACT Zollverein. In March 2010 there will be a second edition in Paris's CENTQUATRE art centre and surrounding area.
In addition to its main tasks of production and presentation, PACT Zollverein has for years been developing experimental areas for contemporary and diverse learning and discovery activities outside standard institutional frameworks and has created a matrix for contemporary forms of learning.
