For the first time ever, Duisburg-Essen University invites the public to a Night of Science on both campuses. The event - which is organized in cooperation with other scientific institutions in the Ruhr region and the cities of Duisburg and Essen - brings science to life by letting visitors take a look behind the scenes of laboratories and research institutes.
For the first time ever, Duisburg-Essen University invites the public to a Night of Science on both campuses. The event - which is organized in cooperation with other scientific institutions in the Ruhr region and the cities of Duisburg and Essen - brings science to life by letting visitors take a look behind the scenes of laboratories and research institutes.
Experiments, lab visits and presentations show real-life examples of what scientists in the Ruhr region are working on and provide a glimpse of the exciting mysteries of modern-day research. Rather than being merely given a look at scientific facts, visitors will be treated to emotional insights involving show effects, music, art, theatre, readings and other events.
Those hungry for knowledge will discover new and interesting developments and the latest research. Since interactive events are especially popular, questions and audience participation are explicitly encouraged! The scientists will present science to touch and feel, thereby increasing interest in scientific work - and maybe even recruit young people for scientific training and education.
The Duisburg and Essen campuses will be connected via video linkup to each other as well as to other European universities that will be offering similar events the same night.
