City Churches along the A40

The CHURCH OF CULTURES project brings together five Protestant churches along the A40 to form the "StadtKirchenPassage A40". The participating churches see themselves as venues for dialogue in which art and thought can enjoy free reign. A wide-ranging programme of spiritual events is offered in conjunction with RUHR.2010:
ST. PETRI DORTMUND: Spirituality comes alive in a walk-around maze.
CHRISTUSKIRCHE BOCHUM: A reminder of dark episodes in European history.
BLECKKIRCHE GELSENKIRCHEN: Presentation of an inter-faith and intercultural "Dialog der Erscheinungen": Synagogue - Church - Mosque
MARKTKIRCHE ESSEN: Exhibition entitled "Dem Antlitz zugewandt"
SALVATORKIRCHE DUISBURG: Series of events on the topic of "Literature and the church service"
All the "Church of Cultures" events centre on the question of God, entering into dialogue with their surroundings at different levels. By seeking, listening to and seeing what is different, this series of events offers an opportunity to explore the beauty of pluralism.
