RUHR.2010 copyrighted all over Europe

This is confirmed by the registration certificates issued by the Office for Harmonisation in the Internal Market where RUHR.2010 is registered under the numbers 005656831, 005656848, 005656855, 005656871 and 005830815. The copyright equally covers the umbrella trademark logo with its pattern of flags and also the typeface on the RUHR.2010 community logo. The umbrella trademark was developed from the typeface "Essen for the Ruhrgebiet. Capital of Culture 2010" and from the logo derived from it, "Ruhrgebiet 2010. European Capital of Culture“. These were also copyrighted in 2004 and 2005.

This means that the RUHR.2010 GmbH has a legal right to use its trademark, but may also exclude others from using the typeface RUHR.2010. RUHR.2010 has legally reserved for itself all forms like advertisements, publications, merchandising etc.
