LEA
Big city life in two places in the world. The Rauwald Company will be sending theatrical material from Germany to Israel and receiving material in exchange from Israel. Eleven artists between the ages of 20 and 50 will then be working on improvised scenes based on the highly personal family stories of working life and life in the big city.
"My life only really started in 1989, after everything that had happened beforehand …", "My life only really started around 1930 because I can’t remember a thing before then …", "My life only really started when …" The starting point of LEA is the highly different careers of the artists. Where do they come from? Where are they going? And how will they get there? Is there a dialogue between the generations? Parallel with this, eleven artists in Israel will be taking a hard look at their own reality. In this way personal stories from contemporary Israel will be linked with similar material from Germany. In autumn the final result of the German-Israeli project will be given its world premiere performance by actors from three generations belonging to both nations. For several years now Ute and Dagmar Rauwald have been working on their concept for a theatrical work embracing all generations - amongst others at the Ruhrtriennale and the International Culture Factory "Kampnagel" in Hamburg.
