Boundless Music
If late summer 2010 turns out to be particularly sweaty, it could be the result of the nervous energy emanating from 200 amateur musi-
cians, most of them young people, who will be meeting up in the Ruhr Metropolis on the initiative of the Modern Flute Orchestra in Essen. The 200 musicians will be offering three concerts, five hours of live music, six brass bands from the Ruhr Metropolis and a brass band from the “70 School” in Essen’s twin town, Nizhny Novgorod (RUS).
If late summer 2010 turns out to be particularly sweaty, it could be the result of the nervous energy emanating from 200 amateur musicians, most of them young people, who will be meeting up in the Ruhr Metropolis on the initiative of the Modern Flute Orchestra in Essen. The 200 musicians will be offering three concerts, five hours of live music, six brass bands from the Ruhr Metropolis and a brass band from the “70 School” in Essen’s twin town, Nizhny Novgorod (RUS). In the second half of September 2010 the bands will be playing hosts to one another. The Modern Flute Orchestra (Essen), the brass bands FKM Essen-Kray and Wesel Bislich, and musicians from the following bands, Blau-Weiß Essen-Heisingen, Blau-Weiß Oberhausen and Wesel Büderich, will be taking the stage along with Russian school students, and also as individual groups. Because the individual groups will also appear in different formations, the works they will be performing together constitute a genuine challenge. But the German Russian big-band intends to keep its promise and provide the general public with a rich variety of concerts.
