Young people are especially susceptible to the tender emotions involved in falling in love, getting angry and being proud. They can turn their lives on their head and cause them to drive their heads against a brick wall.

Groups of up to 12 young people between the ages of 13 and 21 will be working with professional dancers in Bottrop, Dinslaken and Hamm, as well as in their twin towns of Afyon (TR), Agen (F), Arad (IL), Blackpool (GB), and Gliwice (PL) to choreographed dance shows on the themes of "falling in love, being angry and being proud". The dance shows will include a two-minute "club dance", intended to express the particular character of their home towns. They will be given a completely free hand in the selection of dance styles which might range from hip-hop to ballet, and standard dance to folk dancing. The project is aimed at young people who have very little knowledge of dance, suffer from social deprivation or have a migration background. Between 1st and 8th July the dance groups will be meeting up at the festival in Hamm to present their productions free of the pressures of competition. On stage the different ensembles will be able to experience how much their ideas resemble or differ from one another in the shows they have worked out. Further performances by the young dance groups are planned in the participating towns. Already we can be sure that the young people will be able to experience the feeling of pride in a particularly intense fashion, at the latest at the festival in Hamm.
