The Schönebeck youth brass orchestra took up the first tender bonds with Hungarian music as early as 2006 during the "Essen Lichtwochen". One year later, the orchestra of the Pécs secondary school for arts Művészeti Szakközépiskola participated in the 2nd international brassmusic festival in Essen and in the same year, the Schönebeck youth orchestra, Essen, set off for a concert tour lasting several days to Pécs.

Since then, the young musicians try to play the traditional music of the other country, respectively, and thus establish a common repertoire. This long-term remote relationship of two famous and successful music ensembles now leads to the production of a CD which is to be presented by both youth orchestras at the 3rd International Essen Youth Brassmusic Festival on 9th July 2010. In October 2010, the Schönebeck youth brass orchestra will, in return, visit the partners in Pécs. Right now, you may be certain that beyond the final applause of these concerts in the European Capitals of Culture 2010, the cooperation of both orchestras will go on.
