MULTI is the name of a project in Oberhausen, Europe, its adjacent towns and even more towns from Europe, from Middlesbrough via Jerusalem and Ufa all the way to Siberia. 400 young people from Oberhausen and its twin towns, as well as - for the first time - from Oberhausen’s neighbouring towns and their twin towns will be travelling for four days through the north-west of the Ruhr Metropolis to present 30 creative and sporting projects.

The 14 to 17-year-olds taking part in the project will be accommodated by host families, and the project will include Taiko (Japanese drumming), Capoeira (Brazilian martial dancing), constructing objects from glass pearls, fashion design, photography, theatrical makeup, music, climbing, speed stacking, diving, Tai-Chi, theatre and flag football. On their "social day" the teenagers and their young partners will be donating their time free of charge to work with holiday children, senior citizens and the handicapped, as well as cleaning up green areas and livening up kindergartens, schools and parish halls. Furthermore the teenagers will be asked to solve tricky questions during a city game that will enable them to discover Oberhausen. Because such a lively and happy mixture of people from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds has sadly not always been taken for granted, a further day will be dedicated to remembering the victims of Nazi Germany.
