The "Wandelweg" (Path of Change) is a route linking the two suburbs of Kamp and Lintfort, the past and present parts of Kamp-Lintfort. The Path of Change follows the banks of the Große Goorley river from the ancient building of Kamp Monastery to St Stephens wood. In the immediate vicinity of the colliery on Friedrich-Heine-Allee, the Rhein-Waal Polytechnic is also being built and students will soon be able to study international courses like bioscience and health or E-government.

Illustrated signs all along the way will tell visitors about the town’s history under the title "A path tells a story of the past". After six years of planning and construction work the Path of Change will be opened to the general public in May 2010. The citizens of Kamp-Lintfort will be welcoming schoolchildren from their twin towns to the opening celebrations. Working with students of their own age from secondary schools in Kamp-Lintfort they have been making fl ags on the theme of "We are Europe". These flags will be flying proudly over the heads of the crowds at the opening celebrations. And when the first visitors begin to walk along the historic path they will be offered international food and drink by members of cultural societies in Kamp-Lintfort, with music, theatre and dance along the path leading from the mediaeval monastery to the industrial centre.
