No matter if you travel by air, by car or by train, getting here is easy. / MORE

By boat

The River Rhine is the most important inland waterway in the whole of Europe, and a unique network of canals (Wesel-Datteln, Datteln-Hamm, Rhine-Herne canal and Dortmund-Ems canal) means that the Ruhr Metropolis can boast of an attrative network of navigable waterways. Not forgetting the River Ruhr itself which gave its name to the region.

You can travel all the waterways with your own boat or by passenger and cruise ships.

In the following you find suggestions for excursions by water.
